New Love Songs - Open Call
An Unprecedented Call for Compositions!
Art is a reflection of our current state in the world and in politics and that it is influenced by all the wars but I also think that love has never been absent. It has always been there and the same feelings have been evoked in us through the centuries.
LOVE IS LOVE
As a queer artist who loves to play contemporary music, I miss pieces written by contemporary (queer) composers in the theme of love. In older times love songs were very popular and also the most beautiful ways of saying 'I love you'. Today, they are still very popular but more in other world-music genres.
The deadline is 01. April. Length 3-5 minutes. Instrumentation is open, of course using the recorder as a solo intrument. All the sent compositions will be performed in at least one concert dedicated to this project and as a part of my final exam in Amsterdam. The venue is to be announced. Furthermore, I invite some of the composers, in live or via internet, to a conversation hosted by Europe's leading recorder department here in Amsterdam. Where you can tell us more about the process of writing the piece and the inspirations that you found. I'll video record the top five compositions. ABOUT BENCE
Since, the very first time I made a sound on the recorder I have been having a special relationship with the instrument and music. Currently, I live in The Netherlands and I am constantly searching for sources that can feed my imagination and artistry. I like to work together with open-minded musicians and composers. I would like to propagate the importance of early music and contemporary art, as well. I believe it is the most important to be open to new experiences so that, we can enjoy and understand music much better.
I like to collaborate with Hungarian folk musicians and put together folk music and folk instruments with art music.
In my free time, I'm a keen Crossfit athlete and reader of all sorts of literature.

Bence Néveri recorder, reciter and Kinga Korsós koboz, voice. A concert about the most powerful love story told by Monteverdi's libretto.
We chose pieces from Monteverdi's time and also folk songs and dance musics.

FIRST CD RECORDING WITH IL CHIAROSCURO
Il Chiaroscuro is an early music ensemble founded in 2016 in Szeged (HUN). The base of the group is two singers, a recorder player, a guitar player and a percussionist.
On the album we recorded mostly early baroque songs and pieces. I've recorded two solos on the album.
